Trossard, Eddie Nketiah, and left-back Kieran Tierney were all absent from Wednesday’s training, with a slim possibility of Gabriel Jesus making an appearance, which would be a pleasant surprise for Arsenal fans.
Otherwise, the team may have to resort to playing false nines or assigning a player to the role.
However, Jorginho’s presence will allow Partey to have fresh legs for Sunday’s Fulham game.
GunnerBanana’s POV
If you were to ask any Arsenal supporter which player on the team is most likely to receive a red card, they would likely name Xhaka or Big Gabi.
In my opinion, these two players are also the team’s weaknesses that opponents can provoke during matches.
Xhaka – As for alternatives for Xhaka’s position, Fabio Vieira or ESR would be great choices with superior offensive statistics. They possess better skills, passing accuracy, and even finishing abilities.
Aside from Xhaka’s leadership, his physicality and aerial ability are the key factors that allow him to maintain his position. However, it’s challenging to lead the team while being at risk of receiving a red card, especially during difficult situations.
Gabriel Magalhães – We eagerly await seeing how Kiwior challenges Big Gabi for the left center back position. If Kiwior has a chance to make his Arsenal debut, providing competition for Gabriel Magalhaes in the left center back role, it will be exciting for fans.
Others – If the team secures an early lead in Lisbon, it may be wise to give some minutes to academy players. If anyone can play on the right wing, resting our starboy Saka would be ideal.
In the event that Partey substitutes Jorginho in the game’s final minutes, we can give playing time to a player who can fulfill the Zinchenko role, thanks to Partey’s ability to stabilize the team.
Therefore, it may be beneficial to rest Zinc, as long as Partey is available.
This would allow Zinc and Jorginho to play together, while Partey and a new face can form a separate pairing.
