I highly commend Erik Ten Hag (ETH) for his achievements.
In a society where athletes receive exorbitant salaries and often develop big egos and a desire to spend extravagantly, ETH stands out as the strict headmaster of this global academy of wealthy youth, many of whom arrive in luxury sports cars.
As Arsenal, we have faced similar challenges in managing high-profile players such as Aubameyang, Ozil, and Lacazette.
Therefore, we have a great empathy and respect for the efforts made by Ten Hag in handling the situation at Manchester United.
Erik Ten Hag’s comments against Arsenal squad
It’s likely that he misspoke when he claimed that “I see Arsenal, they almost have all the time a squad that is totally available.”

Any avid follower of the English Premier League would know that Arsenal had to cope without Gabriel Jesus for 2.5 months, while Emile Smith Rowe and Elneny were out due to their respective surgeries.
In addition, Thomas Partey, Fabio Vieira, Zinchenko, and Nketiah suffered injuries at some point during the 2022/2023 season.
Actual Squad Depth Situation at Arsenal
More significantly, Arsenal’s team depth is nowhere near that of Manchester United. I wouldn’t necessarily say that we are lacking in quality compared to ETH’s team, but we certainly have less excess fat.
If you’ve been keeping up with Arsenal’s matches, you’ll have noticed that there was a period when Arteta’s only tactical substitution was bringing on ESR for Martinelli at the 60th minute.
During the said period above, I felt I could make substitution decisions during games if all the Arsenal coaches got red carded.
60th minute, ESR for Martinelli. Simple.
Defending a lead? Take off an attacker, and bring on Holding. Literally to HOLD the defence together.
Unfortunately, these moves didn’t always yield the desired results.
Now, with Leandro ‘Lifesaver’ Trossard, we have some welcomed variation in our gameplay. However, when we examine our bench, we don’t have many game-changers who can turn the match around when we are chasing a goal.
Both the Reiss Nelson goal against Bournemouth and Jorginho’s strike against Villa felt uncharacteristic for us, which is why we savored those victories so much.
Squad Depth Situation at Manchester United
Why am I even analysing their squad? That should be ETH’s million dollar job to do so.
When you take a glance at Manchester United’s bench, you’ll notice a remarkable selection of players such as Lindelof, Maguire, Malacia, Sancho, Wan-Bissaka, Elanga, McTominay, and Garnacho.
That’s a considerable sum of around £200 million worth of talent sitting on the bench.
Their starting eleven for the match featured De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, Fred, Antony, Fernandes, Rashford, and Weghorst.
GunnerBanana’s POV
If you want to compete in 4 different competitions, check your squad’s eligibility.
If you can’t cope, don’t complain by trying to draw baseless comparisons.
We take it that you had a brain fart moment, we still kinda respect you for your guts to boot Cristina’s butt.
